Fundraising with GarageSaleIt

Fundraising is the practice of raising money to support educational enrichment programs by schools or school groups. 

Schools, sporting groups and community groups around the world always strive to find many creative ways to raise funds—from bake sales, dinner events, auctions and school carnivals. These events typically rely on the local community to attend the events, auctions and carnivals.  If they aren’t attending these events, they are relied upon to purchase the chocolate bars, raffle tickets and run in the fun runs…

GarageSaleIt is a way of raising much needed funds without having to outlay large amounts of money to buy products to onsell, that doesn't require a huge amount of volunteers to make your fundraiser a success, and can appeal to a larger audience rather than your small school or sporting club community…

Let’s face it, Everyone and I mean Everyone has items at home that are no longer used or wanted, or needed.  Clothes that kids have grown out of, toys that are no longer played with and items that have been received as gifts that you have no use for… How simple is it to ask your school community to simply donate one or two items from their home to sell in an online school garage sale. 

GarageSaleIt is a platform that can be used to raise much needed funds for your school community.  No listing fees, no selling fees and no commissions on items sold.  All of the profits raised go directly to the school.

Simply get some volunteers to collate and photograph the items and upload to the site, communicate the sale to the school community and ask them to share with their family and friends. 

And the best part of all is the lesson it teaches all of the students in the importance of reusing, recycling and reducing waste…. 

Lots of small donations and small items can add up to a large amount of money – eg:  100 items at $10 an item means $1000 in revenue….
